2024: "Our job find yours"

In 2024, I was thrilled to join Iziwork, an innovative start-up focused on making temporary jobs more accessible, as the sole designer on their mobile app design team.

My mission was to single-handedly create a design system from the ground up, using the existing app as a foundation while improving and refining it.

Despite the challenges of working alone, I successfully developed a design system that not only looked great but also provided an intuitive and seamless user experience.

As a result, user satisfaction increased by 35%, and the app's retention rate improved by 20% within the first three months of implementation. It was an exciting opportunity to enhance an app that’s truly making a difference, helping thousands of people find work through a platform that’s both smart and easy to use.

2021 → 2023: Solo Designer, Big Challenges

When I joined Fabriq in 2021 as the sole designer, I was excited to dive into creating new features for the product. What I didn’t expect were the significant responsibilities that came with the role. As I got deeper into the work, I quickly realized there was a crucial need for strong decision-making and a glaring disconnect between designs and the actual code being implemented. It became clear that Fabriq was in desperate need of a solid design system.

One day, I started to suspect that our developers might be using inconsistent assets, so I decided to conduct a full site audit. The results were eye-opening—not only did I uncover wildly different assets, but I also found a dizzying array of variations in buttons, badges, and other components.

With Fabriq poised for future growth and new designers expected to join, I knew we needed a design system that was both simple and scalable.

My goal was to create a system that could grow effortlessly and support multiple users.

And then, I documented everything. I’ve always believed in the power of good documentation, so I spearheaded the creation of design guidelines and best practices. This resource quickly became the go-to guide for our design team, offering a wealth of insights into successful design strategies.

This wasn’t just a one-off project; it was like planting the seeds for our design system, ensuring it would continue to flourish and support our team’s success.

2018 → 2020: Crafting a mobile app for Hospitality

At Phileas System (2018-2020), I had the exciting challenge of leading the design for a hospitality app.

My mission was to craft an interface that wasn’t just beautiful, but also intuitive and enjoyable for users. Along the way, I had the privilege of mentoring junior designers, watching them grow and shine in their roles.

The hospitality industry is fast-paced and ever-changing, so adaptability became our mantra.

My role wasn't just about making things look good—I was at the crossroads of design, development, and business, ensuring everything clicked together smoothly.

Seeing our team create not just a seamless app, but also a strong, supportive design culture was incredibly fulfilling.

I spent 4 years at Kubity, contributing to a significant milestone – the creation of a groundbreaking 3D/VR/AR web application. This ambitious project included developing four mobile applications, a website, and laying the groundwork for what would become the industry's first Mixed Reality player.

Driving Innovation with 3D Player Design

The core of the 3D Player's design aimed to push technological boundaries and redefine user experiences by seamlessly integrating virtual and augmented reality. Leading this visionary project, I assembled a team of five exceptionally talented designers over four years. Our collaborative efforts were dedicated to ensuring every aspect of the project aligned with our overarching goals.

Establishing Brand Guidelines for Consistency

As the team manager, my role went beyond talent acquisition. Actively participating in crafting comprehensive brand guidelines, we aimed to maintain a consistent visual identity across all aspects of our work, including the ambitious 3D Player project.

Pioneering Mixed Reality

This endeavor was more than developing applications; it was about pioneering a new frontier in Mixed Reality. The 3D Player, conceived and meticulously crafted during my time at Kubity, stands as a testament to our collaborative spirit, innovative thinking, and unwavering commitment to a unified brand vision that defined our distinctive approach to design and technology.

In 2014, I had the incredible opportunity to be invited to Amsterdam by an organization called The Next Web, along with some of my classmates. During this event, we proposed an exciting project—a mobile app called SÜNG that integrated with the Uber API.

The goal of the app was to allow users to sync their music in their Uber ride with the music of friends they were meeting up with for a night out. The challenge was intense: together, we had to design and code the entire app within a 24-hour marathon session.

The experience was both thrilling and demanding, pushing our creativity and technical skills to the limit. Working alongside my classmates made it even more memorable, as we brought this unique and fun idea to life in an incredibly short amount of time.
